Once a year US Airways offers a BOGO offer to select customers:  buy up to 50K miles, and get an equal number of miles as a bonus.  US Airways miles typically cost $ .035 per mile, but with this promotion, they end up costing ~$ .019 per mile.

Brian Kelly, “The Points Guy,” offers an excellent review of this offer including tips on how you can maximize miles via transfers:  Targeted – US Airways 100% Buy Miles Promotion Until October 31, 2012    Brian also reports that individuals who’ve not received the offer can often still take advantage of it.

The only caveat I’d offer is this:  personally, my track record with using US Airways miles has been spectacularly bad.  I ALWAYS seem to encounter blackout dates when attempting to redeem US Airways miles; YMMV.
