Looking for a way to tape or otherwise seal splices I’d made on the (underground) wiring for our low voltage landscape lighting, I recently stumbled upon Liquid Tape.

This stuff is fantastic – it completely seals electrical splices or connections, and sets up in a mere five minutes.  You just brush it on, wait a few minutes, and you’re good to go.  In actual practice I usually put a second coat on to make sure the connection is fully sealed.

Liquid Tape provides an impervious, waterproof seal to electrical connections, and makes vinyl electrical tape seem positively obsolete.  It costs less than $10 for a 4 oz. bottle, enough for many, many projects. It’s available, by the way, in four colors.

I have no connection to the company that manufactures Liquid Tape, by the way – it’s just a great idea and – in my experience thus far – a very effective product.  See it here:  Liquid Tape
