Exciting news from Chris Guillebeau, author of the Frequent Flyer Master and blogger (The Art of Nonconformity): today Chris launches the Travel Hacking Cartel, a collaboration between Chris and scores of travel hackers from around the world.
Sign up for the Cartel and you’ll receive precise instructions for how to travel the world for free. You’ll learn about glitch fares, Round-the-World tickets, padding out your mileage account, earning elite status, and much more. Cartel members will receive regular emails and screen shot tutorials, and will be invited to a series of member-only webinars.
Chris is so confident of the tremendous value the Travel Hacking Cartel will deliver, he guarantees that you’ll receive four free airline tickets every year you’re a member – or you’ll get your money back, no questions asked.
If you’re still doubtful, he’s offering a spectacular deal to enable you to get your feet wet – for just $1, you’ll receive a 14 day trial membership. I know Chris, and there’s absolutely no doubt that he’ll make sure that those 14 days will be well worth your while.
You can learn about the Cartel and all the benefits it will offer by clicking on the small ad in the column to the right. Happy travel hacking!!

Margaret,
I can’t comment for others, but I do know a few readers have signed up for the service. I have as well, and would say that the biggest advantage is that the best travel/flyer mile deals available are summarized in one place – no longer will I have to wade through threads at FlyerTalk, BiddingForTravel, or a number of blogs.
Perhaps others can comment – but as a junior level travel hacker, I’m definitely encouraged.

I too wonder about these sorts of things, especially as an Australian. I wonder whether it is of any value to someone in my corner of the world. We just don’t get the credit card deals that Americans do, and my access to the American deals would be very very limited.
They say that about 1/2 of the deals are for non-Americans, but what percentage of that 50% would be useful to an Australian? An even smaller percentage I would think.

Yvette,
Great question. Let me pose that question to Chris or Sean Ogle, his assistant, and I’ll share the response with you.

Yvette,
This is the response I received:
I guess my own feeling is it might be best to wait a bit – Chris will work hard at delivering value – but you may not get the full bang for your buck right now. Just my opinion…

Thanks Kevin. I really appreciate you getting that response for me. More to think about.

What about those of us who don’t have credit cards?
I signed up and am curious to see if I can get 4 flights. There were no conditions stated so I assume so.

I’ve thought about this some more. If they’re saying that Australians will have to be patient, then one wonders if they can guarantee the free flight each quarter. If they can’t, then perhaps we’d be justified in thinking it was false advertising.

Hey Kevin,
Yep, the guarantee is still good. There are actually a few Australia offers out there right now, that she may be interested in. Feel free to have her contact me directly if she has more specific questions.
