People are fond of saying, “Time flies when you’re having fun.” In my experience, and this is perhaps the oldest cliche in the book, – time simply flies by, period. Our trip to Italy is now a mere 6 weeks or so away. This is a great time to double check all our arrangements, consult our international trip checklist, and buckle down with the Rosetta Stone CD’s I purchased… our departure date will be here in “no time!”
On to some interesting articles I’ve come across recently:
Simon at the Never Ending Voyage blog addresses what he calls “The Arrival Tax” in his piece entitled, The First Night. Do you succumb to paying the “arrival tax” the first night you arrive in another country?
Somehow I missed this when it appeared in The New York Times, but managed to discover it via a “Popular” search at delicious: 10 Simple Google Search Tips. Are we still learning about Google?!? Well, yeah… a few of these were new to me.
Something to dream about: from Forbes, a slideshow of Hotels With the Most Beautiful Views.
Hmm… not quite convinced yet. From Gadling: How the iPad is changing the way I travel already by Kraig Becker
A good, basic piece on staying healthy while traveling, from the Hike-Bike-Travel blog: 10 Tips for Healthy Travel. Shameless plug: my take on the same subject, from February 2009 – The no-nonsense guide to staying healthy on the road
Quick rant: who is Roni Deutch, anyway? Can we all chip in to get rid of her ubiquitous ads??? Hopefully they’ll disappear after April 15th!
Finally, we’ve touched upon much of this in the past, but from Lifehacker: The Frequent Flier’s Guide to Finding Cheap Airfare. One strategy I’ve not written about that’s mentioned in the piece is using Twitter to find deals; check it out.
Have a great week!
