If you’ve ever bemoaned the lack of padding in the bottom panels on your Air Boss, there’s good news from the folks from Billings, Montana: they’ve introduced a seude-covered neoprene pad that fits in the bottom of the Boss’s middle compartment.

Now Air Boss owners can protect their laptops and other sensitive gear from jolts and shocks; the pad is only $15.00 and is of course available at the Red Oxx site. See it here: Air Boss Neoprene Pad insert.

Or you could just tape a layer of bubble wrap. In true practical hack sense.
Anyway, nice product idea that will definitely sell. So, I don’t come off as too negative. :)
Seriously. One could take some bubble wrap, several layers, cut it to the exact shape needed. Then wrap it in duct tape. WOuld take five minutes. And it would last and be cheaper than $15. You’d even get color choices and custom sizes and shapes. Build your own shock absorbers.

Till,
Somehow you don’t strike me as a bubble wrap and duct tape kinda guy…

Despite my champagne taste, sometimes I just make do with bubble wrap. :)
I mostly use a bubble poly mailer envelope as my computer sleeve and love the thing. I also use a ziplock baggie (actually the cheap version without the ziplock) as a camera bag for my G9. Works great and gets lots of attention actually.
If the solution is simple, practical and cheap I’d rather come up with a hack than buy a product. If I have to figure out how to do it and the end result would never be as good, than I buy the product.

I’m glad RedOxx came out with it. I’m a big one for buying a camping pad and cutting out pieces for my bags. But getting a professional looking one from the manufacturer at RedOxx instead of Bihn pricing is a good deal.
Maybe it can double as a stadium seat?

I really like the camping pad idea. Very nice hack.
That would have to be a really skinny butt to fit on that strip as a seat. :)
You’re right about the price, though $15 still isn’t that cheap.

Only the Olsen twins would qualify.
