Hitting the road for a quick one night trip to STL, testing out the Pacsafe Metrosafe 350, a smallish daypack with all the usual Pacsafe security features; it’ll be featured in a review later this week or early next week. This trip will also give me a chance to use my BlackBerry Tour as a modem with my Asus netbook, something I haven’t done since I originally tested it (& related software) a couple of weeks ago.
In the meantime, in case you’ve ignored the news about the new credit card law, here are a couple of articles that are worthy of a quick read:
5 ways the new credit card law will affect travelers – from the Consumer Traveler blog. Of particular note are the changes to transaction fees and the likelihood that rewards cards won’t be quite as lucrative in the future. Killjoys!!
A more general audience rundown of the law’s impact on consumers from MSN Money: What the new credit card law means for you
Finally, and completely unrelated: if you’ve never checked it out, FatWallet‘s travel section includes some very good summaries on getting the best deal for your travel dollar. Check this one: FAQ: How to find the best airfare deals
Have a great day!

Kind of Off-topic — but I bought the PacSafe CarrySafe 300 strap last year. I used it daily for 40 days — touring Asia with a small bag for camera and books. It was great. I used it a few months ago on my computer case because it was more comfortable. The metal bracket broke on the strap as I was walking on the plane (I was able to slow the fall so no damage was done). The steel reinforced strap was fine — but apparently they spent all their R&D dollars in reinforcing that strap because the metal clip broke — not in a hinge or where you world expect, but in the middle of the metal bracket. I called eBags — they will replace it — hopefully the next one will be of higher quality. Not very impressive quality.

Update: ebags passed me off to pacsafe — I mailed it in with the receipt and they replaced it within 4 weeks I believe. Same design – we’ll see how this one holds up.

Hope it works out for you… I’ve had no issues with the MS 350.
