If you want to be able to access key documents (itineraries, personal information, pdfs, etc.) on your iPod Touch – whether you’re in a WiFi hotspot or not, check out the MiGhtyDocs app.

MiGhtyDocs enables you to view all of your Google Docs (Word, Excel, pdf; the only issue I have run into is with PowerPoint) with a couple of taps on the screen of your Touch.

Installation and setup are very simple:  download the app, provide your Google user name and password, and your Docs are available in moments.  View each once or tap on a “Cache all available Documents” button on the app’s Settings screen, and you’re all set — your Docs are then available offline:

Of course, if you’re saving confidential personal information to Docs, you need to be extremely careful that you don’t lose your Touch; it might be wiser to email yourself such documents in encrypted form – or minimally, bury them in an obscure folder.

You can see the FREE MiGhtyDocs app via this link:  MiGhtyDocs

  1. That sounds like a really useful app. Somehow, though, I’ll pass on sending my Google info to an app by a company called V1ru8.com.

I know, I know, it’s not like a domain name like NoReallyYouCanTrustUs.com is any guarantee, but this just seems open to, “well, what did you *think* was going to happen?”

I had exactly the same reaction. The fact that it had been reviewed by PCWorld and CNET made me feel a bit more confident, however.
