2/9/2010: I began blogging exactly two years ago today. As with many fledgling bloggers, I started on (the free) Wordpress.com (lifeapps.wordpress.com – try it – it redirects to this site) and almost exactly six months later, made the jump to a hosted site and this URL.
Between the two sites I’ve posted 695 times, and the sites in combination have received just a shade under 700,000 page views. Dwarfed by bigger, more heavily trafficked blogs, I’m nevertheless proud that we continue to close in on cracking Alexa’s top 100,000 websites in the world. Practical Hacks is currently ranked as the 103,522nd most popular site in the world (#27,032 in the U.S.) which, given that there are 110 million+ sites on the interwebs, is not altogether bad. Much more importantly, there are ~750 of you who’ve chosen to subscribe to the blog, which I deeply appreciate.
Along the way I’ve learned a lot and more importantly, made some new friends. Writing is one of the most solitary of pursuits, so I love it when you comment or otherwise contribute: thank you!
I’m taking Wednesday off as far as posting is concerned, and will instead concentrate on finding a celebratory cupcake. Have a great day, and thanks again for your support and help!
Kevin
