A mild rant: on September 26th I ordered a “Claw” shoulder strap from Quake Industries. It hasn’t arrived yet – as of October 22nd.
Last weekend, I emailed them (via a contact form on the Quake site (above)) to inquire about the status of the order. Four days later, no one’s contacted me in response.
Uh, hello?? I imagine Quake isn’t a large company, but they must have some sort of customer service department… yes? They’re either completely overwhelmed with hunting season orders, or just plain offer shoddy service. Either way, I’m not impressed.
I’ve been a bit too busy at work to deal with this, but on Friday I’ll try to find a few minutes to call them; I’ll let you know how I make out.
Friday afternoon update: Calling Quake’s Customer Service department was like having your dermatologist say “Hmm… I’ve never seen that before” while examining a mole. I gave the CS rep I spoke with my order number, zip code, and date when I ordered, and when he searched for it, after several seconds he uttered, “Interesting…” Long story short, my order number was 1980. Their system showed order #’s 1979 and 1981, but no 1980. Apparently the computer ate my homework. I placed another order, and should see the Claw strap in another 7-10 days.
All of this is fine and I’m perfectly ok, but wonder why no one at Quake bothered to respond to the email I sent over the weekend. In any event, this is largely an academic exercise, as I’m simply wanting to compare the Claw to the version sold by Red Oxx, with an eye (perhaps) to a follow-up shoulder strap comparison.
