Mel:

Your best bets for using public transportation and for seeing the typical attractions in Boston are:

Harborfront/Aquarium
Waterfront/Convention Center
Copley Square/Theatre District
Fenway Park
Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall/Financial

Also, you definitely ought to check out this thread at BetterBidding: http://bit.ly/bLmrtb

Best of luck to you!!

I am going to bid on Priceline for 3 or 4 days hotel stay in Boston, Mass, in September.
Priceline lists 11 different bidding areas in Boston. Is there any site that will tell me which are the best areas to bid on for visitors with no car? Or which area is best for tourism and sightseeing? Pricelines bidding areas do not seem to conform to anything i can find online or on Boston maps. thx Mel

Readers should be aware that Priceline doesn't guarantee rooms for more than 2 occupants, nor are there any assurances of a particular hotel amenity. When travelling alone, this is okay for me. As a mom, we use Hotwire when travelling with my family. We need a room that will fit 4 people and a swimming pool is a must for the kids.

A useful site similar to biddingfortravel is www.HotelDealsRevealed.com, which has Hotwire hotel lists to help reveal the hotel before you purchase. Very helpful for family travel.

Yolanda,

I'd check Mobissimo, Momondo, and Aviacsa. I doubt that going via Cancun would be less expensive. I took a quick look at Mobissimo and was seeing round trip fares from Continental in the mid $400's. Aviacsa does fly between LAX and Merida, I believe, and they ought to be lower. If not, perhaps other readers have some ideas...
