Practical Hacks has been cleared by Google! Gone are the notices warning that the site is harboring malignant, life-as-we-know-it-is-about-to-end software. The last 7 days have been interesting to say the least… this site was somehow hacked or otherwise compromised and it took me a couple of days to figure out how to get rid of the malware code, and another few days for Google to “reconsider” the site and clear it for people Googling topics we’ve covered. Finally, it’s behind us. The bad code is gone, all my passwords have been changed and are of Schwarzenegger strength, and the site is secure.
This was quite the learning experience and I’ll post about it over the weekend in order to share my experiences in the hope that it might help other bloggers who might face similar challenges at some point.
For my subscribers who hung in there during this ordeal, thanks for being here and reading this - I appreciate your loyalty!!!

Glad to hear everything is fine. Looking forward to reading about what you did and hopefully implement some on mine. I’m always worried about getting hacked.
