What is it about our genetic makeup that renders men incapable of going to a doctor until things are irretrievably screwed up? A college buddy once went to a concert with a broken ankle because he “wasn’t sure there was anything really, really wrong with it.”  Never mind that said ankle looked like it belonged more on Dumbo the Elephant rather than Bud Light the College Student.

As I mentioned a few days ago, I came down with a combination bronchitis/sinus infection/generalized plague about a week and a half ago.  It goes without saying that I didn’t go to the doctor until I was in a full blown Amy Winehouse-esque zombie-like state.  Now, a couple of days and a bunch of antibotics later, I finally am beginning to feel a bit better.   Next time I won’t wait so long before going to see Dr. Feelgood and his bag of magic meds.  Honest. No, really.

Two weeks ago I linked to a Guy Kawasaki post about using LinkedIn to help with your job search; just yesterday I happened upon a post by Chris Brogan – offering a FREE eBook – on using various social media for the same thing.  You can find Chris’s post and a link to the eBook here:  Free eBook – Using the Social Web to Find Work.  Incidentally, I’ve added this eBook to the FREE Downloads page @ Practical Hacks, with Chris’s permission.

Finally, ever have the person in the airplane seat in front of you recline their seat so far it hit your knees? There’s a solution: check out the Knee Defender from Gadget Duck!
