TigZoo.com launched at the end of October and features the same basic model as woot.com – one deal until it runs out (a difference being that deals sometimes don’t expire after one day), $5 shipping, hot prices on gadgets and electronics, and limited support. The layout is even similar.

TigZoo aims for the same ironic tone in its product descriptions as woot.com, but doesn’t quite pull it off.  WANTED:  talented copywriter.  Also, one of the principal appeals of woot is the forum, where wooters abuse woot, the deals and on occasion, one another – plus they augment the information on the site with price comparisons, reviews and user comments.  There’s nothing like that on TigZoo.

BUT…  some of the deals are solid (see above) and it’s definitely worth watching.  Payment via PayPal or credit card; shipments to the U.S. only.  Follow on Twitter:  @TigZoo

  1. I’ve used TigZoo, and my experience has been great. My order arrived promptly and was well packed. There was actually better communication on my order than I expected (i read their info page which led me to believe that it wouldn’t be). I also ordered something and changed my mind. I was worried that it might be a big hassle to cancel. Since they hadn’t shipped the order yet, they issued a full refund. They even asked for feedback in case it was something in the process or customer service that made me cancel (which surprised me again because I read the info page which made it seem like they didn’t care). I can’t speak to whether or not the experience would be the same if the item had shipped, but I guess I’d expect it to be a little more complicated then anyway. I had the same thought about the knock off of Woot. But I also check out lots of deal a day sites. There are tons out there. I found TigZoo on http://www.dodtracker.com. There seem to a million sites like that out there.

I’ve noticed with them that yas ou talked about the deal may last more than a day. That’s true, but I’ve also seen multiple deals show in a day. I guess it’s just according to how many they have and fast stuff sells. They also have free stuff on occassion. Well, there still is the shipping, at least on the ones I’ve seen. I haven’t ordered anything free yet so I’m not sure how that would go. Anyway, I’m a deal a day junkie and am glad that I don’t have to wait until the next day to find something if I’m not into what Woot has. hope this helps your readers.

Thanks for commenting. I’m sure I’ll give them a try when I see the right item. I forgot to mention the occasional free items on the site – thx. for mentioning.
