A Chinese outfit called BudgetGadgets.com sent me a credit card-sized 2GB USB drive that is in fact slim enough to fit in your wallet…

Flip up the USB tab…

…and insert into your USB port:

This flash drive is available with a number of printed designs; a 4GB version is ~$15.  Delivery took about a week and a half.  One possible use is to mark the card I.C.E. and put your emergency info – contacts and medical info – on it, if your cell phone doesn’t have an I.C.E. entry.  You can always create your own In Case Of Emergency entry in your phone, however; if you haven’t, check out this PH post on the topic.

Of course, flash drive prices are falling faster than GM’s stock price; my local Office Max is selling a 4GB flash drive for $9.99.  Other than the novelty of the credit card size and look, you can do better elsewhere  …and have your drive right away.  The firm does have A LOT of gadgets available; check them out by clicking on the image below.

One final thought – if you want to improvise a unique flash drive, just break off the tab and create away!!
