Following a beta test this summer, on September 9th Amazon released their Video on Demand service. You can “rent” TV shows and movies for a fee – ranging between $1.99 for TV shows and $3.99 for movies – for 24 hours, or purchase them (movies are $9.99 and up.) An update to the old Amazon Unbox program for PC’s, Video on Demand requires no special software and will work on both Mac and Windows computers. One neat feature is the fact that you can begin watching a show on one computer, pause it, and watch the balance of the show on another machine.

You can watch the shows on your computer or Series 2 or 3 Tivo DVR. You can also, if your television has the necessary inputs, connect your computer to your TV and watch your selections on TV.
