Thanks so much for these tips. I can wait to get to my course and practice these tips. They will most definitely improve my game and lower my handicap. Thanks a lot.

Excellent stuff, thank you.

The ones I particularly like are;

"Commit to the shot and then just do it"
"Have a game plan and stick to it"

Indecision causes so many poor shots in golf so this is very apt and by having a plan it helps to reduce it.

This is great stuff, summarized well... and are the things that I KNOW, but seem to forget at times -- especially the short game tips.

There are two things that save my round -- my chipping and putting. I know I'm going to miss greens (and probably won't hit incredibly close when I do hit them about 50% of the time), so if I can chip close and one-putt, I'll end up saving par or, at worst, get a bogey.

Not tremendously glamorous, but I've scored much lower since working more on my short game. And your percentages of shots are pretty much dead-on for most everyone.

Great article!!

Fernando, thanks for your kind comment - I really appreciate it!
Nick, try to train your mind to block out the distractions and focus on the shot at hand... which isn't always easy, given the pressure we sometimes find ourselves under. A little trick which might help - when you're getting ready to hit in a situation like this (you just duffed one, shanked one, etc.) think about the best shot you've ever hit with the club in your hands. Then go through your routine and hit it.
Thanks for commenting!
