A great old friend and I are meeting in Des Moines in a few weeks for 4 rounds of golf. We’re each bringing a buddy and there will be some good golf, a number of friendly wagers, and a “more than adequate” amount of trash talking. Tonight I sent him a link to a customized countdown clock which will count down to our first tee time… but I described it in a more colorful manner that probably isn’t appropriate for this blog. Use your imagination.

Creating a countdown clock – to a birthday, a special trip, George Bush’s last day in the White House – and yes, even a golf match – takes only a few moments at countdown2zero.com It’s free and all you need to do is fill out a very simple form and provide your email address.

You can choose a custom color for your clock, add a title, and a text box. Once you’ve completed the one simple form which is involved, you’re provided a URL to the clock. You also are provided a snippet of code to enable you to add your countdown to your MySpace profile or signature. Whoever you send the link to can add comments, as well! (I am looking forward to seeing this feature in use!)

If you have a special event or celebration coming up, check out countdown2zero. Have some fun!

  1. I did. I made my countdown and sent the links to some friends as well.

However when I tried to copy the embedded code as a widget so that my countdown would be part of my blog, it just would not do anything.

    Could you help?

    Thanks

  2. Let me check later today or tomorrow – what blogging platform are you using?
